At the beginning of October, our IronArch team volunteered at the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) — helping to bag 1,800 bags of rice for local families facing food insecurity. 

AFAC serves more than 4,000 families each week, a remarkable community effort supported by both staff and volunteers. With just 25 full-time employees, AFAC relies on its dedicated volunteers who contribute over 51,000 hours of service each year—the equivalent of 25 additional full-time team members. 

Even more inspiring, 91% of AFAC’s funding comes from private donations, meaning every dollar truly helps put food on the table for local families. About 30% of the food distributed is donated through local food drives, ensuring families have both variety and choice in the groceries they receive. 

AFAC’s impact reminds us how powerful community can be when people come together with purpose and compassion. We’re proud to support their mission and encourage others to get involved!
